Hogle Zoo
Macey’s first birthday was last Monday. It’s hard to believe that she is already a year old. The night before her birthday Kristopher and I talked about some of our favorite Macey moments over the last year. There are so many! Macey is definitely a blessing to us and she brings so much joy to our family! We started celebrating her birthday on Saturday by taking her to the zoo. Despite the crowds of people and the heat, we had a great time. We saw lots of animals and Macey even touched a nasty snake, much to my dismay. She also was able to hear a couple of very loud parrots and monkeys. While at the zoo, Macey rode a train and had her first ride on a carousel. She seemed to be more interested in the gears turning above her head on the carousel than in the actual ride. Maybe she’ll be a mechanical engineer like her Daddy someday.
The zoo must have worn sweet little Macey out because she fell asleep before we even left the parking lot.
Are those Balloons?!
August 29th was Macey’s birthday. Over the past couple months she has become quite the balloon lover, so there were balloons waiting for her in the family room when she woke up. She was pretty excited about them and showed her enthusiasm by kicking her little feet.
Petting Farm
After a morning full of balloons, Macey was able to visit the petting farm with her friend Mason. She was also treated to her first ice cream cone (free for kids under 3). For anyone who loves ice cream the way Brittney does, she highly recommends stopping at Thanksgiving Point to try out a 50 cent soft serve cone. Apparently, they’re amazing.
It’s Present Time!
As if the Petting Farm, Balloons, and the Zoo were not enough, Macey received a few presents for her first birthday. She was pleased with her gifts, but also pleased with the wrappings. Some of her gifts were wrapped in Rapunzel paper……..which very much distracted her. She’ll need to grow into some of the toys she received, but overall, she seemed happy with her gifts. Thanks everyone!
Cake
Brittney wanted to make a “cute” cake for Macey to tear into. Since we call her our little Boog, we went with a ladyboog design.
She was completely tuckered out by the end of the day. Happy Birthday Macey! We’re so happy to have you as a daughter!
