31 Weeks

31 weeks....approximately 9 weeks to go......

Brittney is ready for the baby to come out.  Pregnancy has been fun-ish, but she's ready to graduate.  I'm not sure I'm ready to graduate yet.  The baby's room is coming along.  As seen in the picture above, we bought a rocking chair and put it together.  Purchased at walmart, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality, but we'll see what the fatigue life (how long it lasts) of it is.  We also spent a bunch of time cleaning out the closet and a a bunch of other junk that has since piled up in that room.  Apparently it is necessary to get it all out of there.

Happy father's day to all the fathers out there.  For father's day this year, I asked Brittney to watch a special movie with me that she would otherwise not watch:  The Ten Commandments

And just to remind you how great the movie is, here are some of the good quotes from the movie:

"Command what you have conquered, my brother."
"You will be as my falcon or my horse, only I will love you more and trust you less."
"Blood makes poor mortar..."
"What I have done, I was compelled to do."
"So let it be written, so let it be done."
AND MANY MORE!!!

2010 BYU Intramurals Softball Champions

For spring term, Kristopher was recruited to play pitcher on a softball team by Jordan. I have known Kristopher for almost 5 years and had no idea that he could pitch. While we were dating he was continually throwing curve balls at me, so I guess I should have known that he would be a great pitcher. They had a great team and were fun to watch. To recap the season, they won all, but three of their games. Kristopher wanted me to mention that he contributes the losses to not having enough players (sure). They beat a team composed of cocky BYU football players and Mitch Payne (Kristopher's all-time favorite kicker), not only once, but three times. They also had an awesome cheerleader (me). To top it all off they won the championship. Kristopher so badly wanted a FREE intramural championship shirt and now he has it.

The playoffs were double elimination. They won the first round games, but lost in the semi-finals. This meant that they needed to get to the championship game through the loser bracket, which they did with ease. The team they played in the championship game had yet to lose so Kristopher's team needed to beat the team twice (double elimination) in a row to win the championship.

The championship games were entertaining. One of the player's on Kristopher's team couldn't keep his pants up, so he had plumber's crack the entire time. You'd think he'd feel the breeze blowing down his pants because it was a chilly night. Apparently he didn't because his bum was exposed both games. Isn't that an honor code violation or something? Lol. Another entertaining part of the game for some, but not for me, was a line drive straight to Kristopher. Pitchers typically put their gloves up to catch the ball, but not Kristopher. He must be too manly or something because he took the line drive right in the gut. It looked painful and the big circle bruise on his belly still looks painful. Kristopher toughed it out and somehow still winged the ball to first base. Bottom line they won both games and sent the other team packing. I was very proud of Kristopher and he is very proud of his shirt and that they were the division one champions.

Two Bonfires in One Weekend

So for Memorial Day weekend, we had not one, but two bonfires.  We might have gone camping, but everywhere was packed, and it probably would not have been that fun for Brittney.
The first was a cover for Benjamin's much anticipated proposal to Crystal-I assume it's spelled with a "C."  Without going into too much detail, we drove up all in the truck into a nice cove on west mountain out past Payson.  We ate some dogs and roasted mallows until Brittney was full and left, leaving the impression that we had to go jump start a friend's car.  That friend had meanwhile driven Benjamin's car to the mountain.  We left, he proposed, she said yes, Benjamin almost started a forest fire, and for those concerned.........they returned even before midnight.  In Benjamin's words, "the Eagle has landed."

That was Saturday, on Monday, after everyone ended their holiday activities, we returned to have another bonfire with Jeff and Chelsey, Jordan and Amy, and Cole.
We did the same thing at this bonfire, only we stayed longer, made a bigger fire, laughed more because of Jordan and Jeff, and I killed a rattlesnake.

As you can see from the picture on the left, it was a true rattlesnake.  The picture on the right shows the carnage that can be done with a shovel when properly used.  Good thing the Easter Bunny brought me a shovel this year.  When Jeff almost stepped on it and yelled, Brittney ran to the truck and sat inside, scared stiff.  The snake had slithered into a bush, so naturally we went after it with whatever weapons we had.  I was happy.  I've always wanted to kill or maim something in Brittney's honor.

Needless to say, Brittney did not approve of my idea to make a baby rattle toy out of the snake's rattler.

28 Weeks

28 Weeks.  Well, Brittney says it is actually 28 and one half for those of you who are keeping track.  She's healthy and happy and recently had a visual of the baby kicking.  I have also for the first time felt the baby.  Also, Brittney has cravings for ice cream and pizza.  She claims that I have cravings for Taco Bell.......  Has anyone had their chalupa?  I know its just junk fast food, but I like it a lot, so go have a baja chalupa.
